Mahadasha - Different Phases of Planets

It is only under the effect of positive planets that one can expect good things to continue for a long time, but the opposite is applicable if a negative planet starts its transit on you.

What is Mahadasha?

There are nine planets in Vedic astrology, including the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu. Each planet has a different energy and represents different aspects of life. The Mahadasha period of each planet has a different effect on a person’s life.

The Mahadasha period is divided into sub-periods called Antardasha or Bhukti. Each Antardasha period is further divided into smaller sub-periods called Pratyantar Dasha or Sub-period. The length of each period is determined by the position of the planet in the person’s birth chart or Kundli.
